OK. Nothing educational in this post.
But sometimes you have to marvel at human ingenuity.
Having been beading for quite a while, I know there are lots of things that you can turn into beads.
However, I think I’ve found one that truly takes the cake.
Believe it or not, someone is making beads from, of all things, reindeer droppings.
Yes, you read that right.
And before you dismiss this as, well, how should I say it, crazy, you should know that the jewelry made from these darling little leave behinds (no pun intended) is quite popular.
In the link below you can check out the article, and make sure you watch the news video as well so you can see what vintage (can I say that?) reindeer poop bead jewelry really looks like.
By the way, although I always talk about creating something unique when it comes to making jewelry that will sell, I hope after watching this video that no one starts looking at their dogs and cats and getting any funny ideas for “unique” holiday jewelry!
Here’s a link to the story and the video:

Up to now I thought I had seen it all,Talk about a very unique gift.Thank you Eri for the article and the humor…It has made my night.
I have to admit that I did buy some of the little candy pooper things from Joann fabrics as a joke for my dad (he is stingy with the jelly beans, but has fun with the poopers), but I’m going to pass on this one. Certainly a new twist on “recycling”. Thanks for sharing!
